New York, the city of skyscrapers

New York is the city of skyscrapers, among the most important we find the Empire State Building, Flatiron, Chrysler and the Rockefeller Center.

Empire State Building is one of the most famous symbols of New York, it represents the Big Apple all over the world and has also become famous for being chosen as the place where the final scene of the famous film King Kong took place. The building inaugurated in 1931 stands out over the city with its 443 meters high.

Flatiron Building is one of the most famous buildings in New York and stands out for its curious shape that earned it the nickname “iron” or Flatiron. 

Flatiron Building was built in 1902 and was among the first to be equipped with a steel structure. The original name of the building is Fuller Building in honor of the company that commissioned its construction.

Chrysler Building is considered one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in New York. It was built in 1930 in the art deco style to house the headquarters of the Chrysler automaker. 

Rockefeller Center is a group of 19 buildings built from 1930 to 1939 by the Rockefeller family of American bankers. It is considered one of the largest private complexes in the world. Also famous is the skating rink set up in winter.

Fifth Avenue in New York is one of the most famous streets in the world, the paradise of shopping and the street overlooked by the most famous buildings in the city. Among the most prestigious shops overlooking Fifth Avenue are Tiffany, Bergdoff Goodman and Cartier which, during the Christmas holidays, presents itself with a splendid and huge bow that wraps the entire building. On Fifth Avenue there is also St. Patrick’s Cathedral built in 1850 in neo-Gothic style.
