The Pripyat amusement park was supposed to be inaugurated on 1st May 1986, but on 26th April the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant changed its plans forever.
The park consists of 4 attractions:
- the iconic 26 meter high Ferris wheel
- the bumper car
- the paratrooper
- the swing boat
Access to the park was granted only to the citizens of Pripyat on 27th April to distract them from the disaster that took place a few tens of kilometers away.
The next day the evacuation of the city began.
