Lake Bled is situated in a picturesque setting, surrounded by mountains and forests.
Bled is a municipality in Slovenia, located in the northwestern part of the country at the foot of the Julian Alps.
The lake has a small island where there are several buildings, one of the main ones is the Church of S. Maria Assunta built in the fifteenth century.
You can walk along the 6 km through the path that surrounds the lake.
Swimming is possible along the lake, but in some places it is prohibited.
For a longer hike, we recommend the route that passes through Mala Osojnica to Velika Osojnica.
Mala Osojnica, 685 metres high, can be reached in about 45 minutes on foot via a steep forest path.
In a further 20 minutes you will reach Velika Osojnica (756 meters). From this point you can admire Lake Bled with its surroundings, the Kamnik Alps and the Ljubljana basin from above.
