Museum of Solferino

Museum of Solferino

Solferino Museum is dedicated to the Italian Risorgimento, with particular attention to the battle of 24th June 1859.

The finds preserved in the Solferino museum cover the entire Risorgimento chronologically and can be dated from 1796, the year of Napoleon Bonaparte’s first descent into Italy, to 1870, the year of the capture of Rome.

Exhibits include original documents from the time such as military uniforms, weapons, cannons and other types of memorabilia.

The collection is then completed by artifacts related to the phase of the armed clash fought in Solferino.

The museum itinerary is accompanied by captions that illustrate the events, presenting the most significant characters of that historical event.
