Helsinki is the largest city in Finland, with a metropolitan area housing around 1.4 million inhabitants.

Finland has been part of the Russian Empire for about a hundred years and the architecture of many parts of this city is similar to that of St. Petersburg and Moscow.

In Helsinki it is possible to clearly observe the different architectural styles and the impact of the different periods of its more than 450 years of history.
